If you're an artist of any kind, you know the magic that takes place when an idea you have comes to life. This..THIS..was that sweet sweet magic.
I drove by an area that I'd driven by probably a trillion times (yes, a trillion) but this time I noticed the beautiful reds and greens that winter was trying so hard to mute. Winter was unsuccessful, this tiny trail was blooming with such beautiful color from the green moss and vibrant red of the bare Arctic Fire Dogwood. Of course the photographer in me thought, "WOW there needs to be a beautiful red head standing there." Maybe this wouldn't be everyones first thought and I assure you I stopped to admire the pure beauty of nature as it was, but let me just say I was right. You'll see why when you browse through the photos of this blog post. I was lucky enough to get in touch with Arden, a beautiful red head. No, not just beautiful, this girl is stunning. Arden is my cousins, girlfriends, cousin?...uhhh... yeah, that's right. Anywho, she was exactly what this area needed. Please enjoy.

I'm at my happiest when I'm creating something and especially when I can take something from a picture in my mind and make it come to life. **absolute bliss** Since beginning my journey as a photographer it's become apparent me to where my "specialty" lies. Some photographers focus on High school Seniors, some on Families... while I do LOVE it all (and do it all)... I'm at my best when I can spend a couple of hours with a child helping their imagination soar and come to life in pictures so that for a moment we as adults can be a part of their adventures. Of course, I love all types of photography but this.... THIS brings butterflies to my stomach and brings a beautiful childlike wonderment into my life. *sigh* I've always been a fan of Alice in Wonderland. Everything about it catches my attention because I'm a bit of a dreamer and I like to believe that Wonderland, or something like it really exists. ;) After doing a Snow White themed shoot last year I started thinking about what my next one would be, and I always new this would be it. A couple of months ago I mentioned this idea to my dear friend, Lisa. Lisa makes tutu's, is incredibly creative and lucky for me she shared my excitement. And the planning began... costumes.props.hair.makeup.oh.my I put out a model call on my page for someone to play the part of Alice. When I received an overwhelming response and my inbox filled up with pictures of ridiculously cute girlies I decided to expand the shoot and add a Mad Hatter and White Rabbit. Thank you, Lisa, for being so willing to make two extra tutu's at the last minute! And my sissy for taking my call at the VERY last minute and showing up to help with hair and makeup. I really could not have asked for a better group of Momma's and girls to be a part of this. The girls insisted on being called by their storybook names and stayed in character the entire time. hehe. They did such a wonderful job and were so so much fun to work with! And now, I'd like to share with you a Thursday evening in the lives of three ADORABLE little girls. You never know where your dreams might take you... ENJOY UNTIL NEXT TIME
